Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. is a Sino-American joint venture established in October 1995, jointly funded by Chongqing Electromechanical Co., Ltd. and Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd., with each party holding a 50% investment share. The joint venture term is 30 years, and there are currently 1,200 employees.
Chongqing Cummins is the starting point of Cummins' localized production in China and is Cummins' largest professional manufacturing plant for heavy-duty and high-horsepower engines in China. The predecessor of Chongqing Cummins was Chongqing Automotive Engine Plant, which began designing and manufacturing diesel engines in the 1950s. In 1981, Cummins engines were produced under license in Chongqing. After years of development, the cooperation between the two parties has continued to deepen. Chongqing Cummins has become an important driving force for the rapid growth of Cummins' business in China. The company has been awarded Chongqing's Top 50 Industrial Enterprises for more than 20 consecutive years and has received the title of "Chongqing Top Ten Foreign-Invested Enterprises" for 10 consecutive years.
At present, Chongqing Cummins produces M11, NT855/QSN, k19/QSk19, K38/QSK38, and K50/QSK50 series diesel engines (the QSK50 has officially rolled off the production line and is currently undergoing various performance tests). The power range is 185-2500 horsepower. The products are suitable for heavy-duty vehicles, construction machinery, mining machinery, petroleum machinery, rail machinery, port machinery, stationary and mobile diesel generator sets, marine propulsion power units and auxiliary power units, pump power units, and other power units.
Main products meet the non-road diesel engine Stage 2 and Stage 3 emission requirements stipulated by Chinese national standards, American standards, and European standards, and meet the International Maritime Organization IMO I/II stage requirements for marine propulsion main engines and auxiliary engines. Chongqing Cummins engine product technology, manufacturing technology, and application technology develop in sync with Cummins Inc. of the United States, and their power performance, economy, reliability, durability, safety, and environmental performance have won the trust of a broad range of users.
