Beijing University of Chemical Technology

Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a Double First-Class discipline construction university, a participant in the 985 Project Innovation Platform for Advantageous Disciplines, and a 211 Project university. It is co-built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education, and is a member of the Beijing High-Tech University Alliance. As a recipient institution for Chinese Government Scholarship international students, it has been selected into various programs including the Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Plan for Higher Education Institutions, the Excellence Engineer Education and Training Program, the National College Students' Innovative Experimental Project, the National High-level University Graduate Project, the New Engineering Research and Practice Project, and the Base for Transformation and Transfer of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Higher Education Institutions. Originally named Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, it was established in 1958 under the leadership of the former Ministry of Chemical Industry. The founding goal of the university was to "cultivate senior chemical talents needed for cutting-edge science and technology." In 1960, the university was designated as a national key university.
