(GJSS). The company was officially established on January 15, 2004. The first phase project---a 400,000-ton hot-dip galvanizing line---commenced full construction on April 13, 2004, and was completed on January 17, 2006. The first phase covers an area of 280,000 square meters, with a total investment of USD 168 million and registered capital of USD 75.6 million. Construction was completed in just 20 months, rising from a previously undeveloped tidal flat without any supporting facilities, setting a record for the construction of similar plants. Relying on the automotive and home appliance industries in South China, Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd. aims to build itself into an excellent supplier in the industrial chain for these sectors. The completion of the first phase---the 400,000-ton hot-dip galvanizing line---made it the first production line in South China capable of producing high-grade galvanized sheets, featuring the world's most advanced chromium-free (Cr) galvanizing process, and it is also China's hot-dip galvanizing line with the highest equipment level. Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd. inherits JFE Steel's fine steel manufacturing technology and Guangzhou Steel's decades of trustworthy service, providing high-quality, high-grade, highly formable, high-strength, and long-lasting corrosion-resistant raw sheets for the growing automotive and home appliance industries. Products from the first phase---the 400,000-ton hot-dip galvanizing project---have passed the European Union RoHS product test and obtained the environmental quality certification. The products include more than 70 grades and over a hundred specifications, with thickness ranging from 0.5 to 2.3 mm and width from 800 to 1700 mm, covering 95% of the specifications and varieties of automotive steel sheets. The company's products are now widely used in automotive, home appliance, construction, and other fields. With high attention and strong support from the Guangzhou municipal government, the subsequent expansion project of Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd.---the 1.8 million-ton cold rolling project---has been approved and officially initiated by the National Development and Reform Commission and is currently under intense construction. The total investment for this project is RMB 6.349 billion. The production lines include a new 1800mm pickling-cold rolling combined unit, continuous annealing unit, hot-dip galvanizing unit, etc. Products include cold-rolled coils and hot-dip galvanized coils, mainly covering high-value-added products such as inner and outer panels for passenger cars and high-grade home appliance sheets, which are in line with the high-quality thin-sheet steels prioritized in Guangdong Province's "Environmental Protection Plan Outline (2006-2020)." The completion and operation of the 1.8 million-ton cold rolling project will play a active and promotional role in adjusting Guangdong's steel industry layout, optimizing steel product structure, enhancing market competitiveness, and increasing economic benefits, while also playing a decisive role in fully meeting the regional market demands of Guangdong and surrounding areas. The cold rolling project of Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co., Ltd., based on construction progress and future production needs, is now recruiting fresh graduates from various universities and colleges.
