China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited (A-share 601390 and H-share 0390). Its predecessor was the Bridge Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways, established in April 1953 with the approval of the Government Administration Council for the construction of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge (restructured into its current name in 2001). It is the only contractor and investor in China that integrates bridge scientific research, engineering design, civil construction, and equipment R&D, and possesses the capability to build various types of bridges under diverse river, lake, sea, and harsh geological and hydrological conditions.
