Chongqing Song and Dance Ensemble Co., Ltd.

The predecessor of Chongqing Song and Dance Ensemble was the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee Art Troupe, established on December 25, 1949, as a municipal professional art troupe founded after the liberation of Chongqing. In 2005, as one of the first pilot units for national cultural system reform, it was restructured into Chongqing Song and Dance Ensemble Co., Ltd., and is currently directly administered by the Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission. It is now advancing under the cultural philosophy of "Professionalism First, Value-Oriented" and the artistic style of "Modern, Urban, Fashionable," striding toward becoming a "national first-class troupe and a billion-yuan cultural enterprise."
Five Hundred Works: It has created and staged over 500 outstanding artistic works, including the dance dramas "Du Fu," "Sacrifice to the Three Gorges," and "Zou Rong"; themed song and dance galas "Yu? Beauty" and "Ba Songs and Yu Dances"; dances "Fang Pei," "Sunflowers," "Dragon Dance," "Little Radish Head," and "Chrysalis Butterfly"; and songs "*** Comes to Sichuan," "Huangyang Shoulder Pole," "Our Mountain Songs Never End," and "When the Red Leaves Turn Red."
A Hundred Honors: It has won over 130 awards of various kinds, including the Wenhua Award, China Drama Award, China Dance "Lotus Award," First Prize in the National Dance Competition, and Screen Award in the National Young Singers TV Grand Prix. It has produced a group of outstanding artists, including composer Guo Wenjing, singer Li Danyang, dancer Xing Zhiwen, and young dancer Li Geng.
Ten Thousand Performances: It has participated in more than 13,000 performances at home and abroad, including the World Festival of Youth and Students, National Day tribute performances, and receptions for foreign heads of state visiting China, and was praised by Japanese media as "* artistic troupe."
