Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd.
Formerly known as Longyuan Power Group Corporation, established in January 1993, it is now affiliated with China Guodian Corporation and is the earliest domestic electric power enterprise engaged in new energy development, as well as a leading enterprise in China's new energy industry. On July 9, 2009, with the approval of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Longyuan Power Group Corporation was formally restructured into Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd. On December 10 of the same year, Longyuan Power was successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, raising RMB 17.7 billion in its initial public offering, setting multiple records including the largest overseas IPO financing amount and the highest price-earnings ratio among Chinese electric power enterprises. In September 2010, at the 5th Asia Brand Festival, Longyuan Power was awarded the "Top 500 Asian Brands" honor, ranking 89th, and was the only new energy enterprise among the top 100. In 2011, in a series of evaluations organized by the China Electricity Council, the company was rated as a 3A credit enterprise in the national power industry and was also recommended as a national credit enterprise.
As of the end of 2011, Longyuan Power had a total of 5,559 employees, including 2,440 in wind power operations. The company is primarily engaged in the design, development, construction, management, and operation of wind farms. Additionally, it operates other power generation projects including thermal power, solar, tidal, biomass, and geothermal energy; and provides consulting, maintenance, repair, training, and other professional services to wind farms. By the end of 2011, the company's total installed capacity reached 10.573 million kilowatts, of which the controlling installed capacity of wind power reached 8.598 million kilowatts, continuing to firmly hold the leading position in Asia and China.
