Founded in August 2009, Hefei BOE Semiconductor Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing BOE Semiconductor Co., Ltd., which is controlled by BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. It is an upstream industry of the 6th generation TFT-LCD liquid crystal display devices jointly invested by BOE Technology Group and Hefei City. It is a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, design, production and sales of metal parts and glass display screens for displays, with a total investment of RMB 130 million. The first phase of the project was completed and put into operation in the third quarter of 2010, with an annual output of 10.35 million metal parts, mainly used for displays of TVs and computers of 37 inches and below, and an annual sales revenue of over RMB 150 million. The second phase of the glass thinning project began construction in September 2013 and was put into trial operation in October 2014.
