Wuhan Zhongyuan Electronics Group Co., Ltd. (State-owned No. 710 Factory) was founded in August 1949, mainly engaged in the research, development, and production of electronic information application equipment such as short-wave and ultra-short-wave tactical communication equipment, wireless digital network communication systems, trunking communication systems, cellular mobile communication equipment, optical communication equipment, remote control and telemetry systems, and automatic satellite navigation. It has the production qualification for Beidou Generation I and the R&D qualification for Beidou Generation II. In 1998, it was restructured according to the modern enterprise system to establish Wuhan Zhongyuan Electronics Group Co., Ltd. (State-owned No. 710 Factory). It is a large state-owned central enterprise and a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation, a Fortune Global 500 company. It passed the ISO9000 (GJB/Z-9001) quality system certification in 1996, and the ISO1002.1 (GB/T19022.1) measurement system certification in 1998. In 2010, it was recognized by the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology as one of the first batch of innovative enterprises in Hubei Province. It enjoys the right to self-operated import and export, and was approved to establish a post-doctoral workstation in 2010.
The group company currently has more than 3,000 employees, of which over 40% have a university degree or above, professional and technical personnel account for 45%, and there are more than 30 national, provincial, and ministerial-level experts. The elite R&D team continuously launches new products, forming a unique and effective scientific research system.
To vigorously develop the company's civilian products business, the group company established the Applied Electronics R&D Center in October 2009, which is a research institution engaged in technology R&D and technology achievement transformation in automotive electronics, military-civilian integration, and Beidou navigation products. The center is located in Guandong Science and Technology Park, Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone. With the further integration of the group's civilian products business, in June 2015, with the approval of the group's board of directors, the Zhongyuan Kechuang Electronics Branch was established based on the main body of the original center.

The company closely focuses on the three major fields of automotive electronics, military-civilian integration, and Beidou navigation to carry out independent R&D, cooperation, and introduction of innovative models for product incubation and sales. Multiple products such as centralized charging and power distribution management equipment, charging and control equipment, plug-in charging and centralized control equipment, power battery management systems, and vehicle information terminals have successfully penetrated the smart grid and electric vehicle fields. Products such as ship AIS intelligent navigation terminals, navigation aid remote control and telemetry systems, radar/AIS search and rescue transponders, and vessel traffic management systems (VTS) have successfully penetrated the fields of civilian ship communication and navigation, digital waterway, maritime search and rescue, and ship-to-shore informatization, and are terminal and system construction partners for institutions such as the Maritime Safety Administration and the Changjiang Waterway Bureau.
The company also undertakes multiple national science and technology support plan projects and is an engineering technology center recognized by the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Currently, it is executing more than 9 fund projects in total, including the central alliance "battery management system" common technology project, the central alliance "platform vehicle power battery system" project battery grouping and management project, the 863 major special project "research on inland waterway traffic state perception and interactive processing technology under ship-marker-shore coordination", the Science and Technology Industry Bureau technology promotion project, and the Donghu Development Zone modern service industry project.
