The company, formerly known as Guangzhou Securities Co., Ltd., was established in 1988 and is one of the earliest securities companies in China. In January 2020, the company merged into CITIC Securities Co., Ltd. and was renamed CITIC Securities South China Co., Ltd. It operates 51 business departments in the South China region, distributed across Guangdong Province (excluding Shenzhen), Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hainan Province, Yunnan Province, and Guizhou Province, with business covering all categories of the company.
