Shenzhen SDG Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as SDG Group) is a historical product of China's reform and opening-up and the establishment of special economic zones. On August 1, 1981, the predecessor of SDG Group, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Development Company, was established by the decision of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Secretary's Office Meeting, and in its early days, it undertook the functions of investment attraction and some economic management for the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. As the earliest large state-owned comprehensive enterprise group in Shenzhen, SDG Group successively promoted the establishment of a number of early large group companies in the special zone, including Yantian Port Group, Nanyou Group, and Nanshan Group, and nurtured or cultivated seven listed companies: Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Real Estate & Properties (Group) Co., Ltd., China Vanke Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Huayuan, Shenzhen International Holdings, SDG Information, Tellhow (Shenzhen Tellhow), and SDG Service.
Over the past 44 years, SDG has experienced the vigorous period of diversified expansion, the arduous period of resolving crises, and the dormant period of contraction and consolidation. Now it has entered a new era of deepening reform, transformation and upgrading, and leapfrog development, forming a diversified industrial system centered on the investment and operation of the new generation of electronic information technology industry, tourism and modern fashion industry, real estate development and management, and property management. Currently, the company has a registered capital of 6.179 billion yuan, a total staff of over 23,000, and more than 100 consolidated enterprises, including 4 listed companies it controls (SDG Information, Tellhow Group, Maijie Technology, and SDG Service).
