China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Electrification & Urban Transit Engineering Co., Ltd. was established in March 2012 through the reorganization of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Electrification Engineering Co., Ltd. and the Urban Rail Transit Engineering Branch of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. It is one of the member enterprises of China Railway Group Limited, with a registered capital of 150 million yuan. The company has long been a professional construction enterprise engaged in railway electrification, communication, signaling, power, and electromechanical equipment installation engineering construction, and also undertakes the construction of supporting buildings for the 'four electrical' systems. It can undertake electrical engineering construction for subways, light rail, highways, power transmission and transformation, water conservancy, and municipal engineering, as well as urban rail transit subway station and shield tunneling construction.
The company headquarters is located in Changsha High-tech Zone, Hunan Province. The company currently has 1,773 employees, including 959 with technical titles; among them are 4 professor-level senior engineers, 84 with senior titles, 364 with intermediate titles, and 511 with junior titles. Among the skilled workers, there are 57 senior technicians and 85 technicians.
The company has strong technical strength and possesses advanced electrification construction machinery such as constant-tension catenary wiring vehicles from home and abroad, as well as communication and signaling engineering instruments and meters. Its annual construction capacity includes: completing 1,500 catenary kilometers and related traction substation installations for electrification; completing 1,500 kilometers of cable (including optical cable) and equipment installation for communication; completing 500 kilometers of double-track automatic block and station signaling engineering for signaling; completing over 1,000 kilometers of power lines and substation (distribution) installation for power; and completing over 25,000 square meters of building construction annually.
