Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau was established in 1979, born with the Special Economic Zone and growing together with it. In 2012, China Southern Power Grid separated Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau as a wholly-owned subsidiary under direct management. Shenzhen Power Grid is one of the super-large urban power grids in China with the highest power supply load density and leading supply reliability. Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau undertakes the power supply task for Shenzhen City and the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, with a power supply area of 2,421 square kilometers and 3.84 million power customers. In 2023, the peak load reached 22.07 million kilowatts, and the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 112.8 billion kilowatt-hours. Its electricity business environment is the best in the country, and Shenzhen's power supply service has ranked first in satisfaction among Shenzhen's 40 government public services for 13 consecutive years.
