In 1997, Comau formally entered the Chinese market, and in 2000 established its wholly-owned enterprise - Comau (Shanghai) Automotive Equipment Co., Ltd. After more than ten years of development, Comau's presence in China is no longer limited to the automotive industry, but has extended its advanced automation technology to various fields of industrial manufacturing. To adapt to the trend of diversified development of Comau China, in July 2010, "Comau (Shanghai) Automotive Equipment Co., Ltd." was officially renamed as "Comau (Shanghai) Engineering Co., Ltd.". Currently, Comau China has more than 1,000 employees in China, with main business in industrial automation systems, including four business units: Body Welding, Powertrain, Industrial Robotics, and General Industry Systems.

Comau formally set its foot on China market in 1997, established a solely-owned enterprise in 2000 – Comau (Shanghai) Automotive Equipments Co., Ltd. It currently has more than 1000 employees in China, involves in FOUR business units i.e. Body welding, Powertrain, Robotics, Adaptive Solutions.Fthe purpose of Comau (China)’s long-term strategic development, Comau (Shanghai) Automotive Co., Ltd. was renamed as Comau (Shanghai) Engineering Co., Ltd. from July 2010. The company has established a R&D center in China inder to cater fChinese client’s customization demands the rapidly growing Chinese market.
