Changsha Underwater World (Hunan) Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly invested and established by Hunan Broadcasting System, the wholly foreign-owned Hunan Golden World Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., and Singapore Underwater World Pte. Ltd. (referred to as Changsha Underwater World). The company was founded in 1995, covers an area of over 105 mu, with a total investment of 200 million RMB. It is a modern high-tech ocean-themed park integrating sightseeing, amusement, science education, and leisure. It is currently the largest marine science education project in Hunan, awarded the title of "Marine Science Education Base" by the Provincial Science and Technology Association, designated as a "AAAA" tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration, one of the "Top Ten" tourist attractions in Hunan Province, and is the leading marine life and polar animal exhibition venue in Hunan Province as well as an important spiritual civilization construction base and film and television shooting base.
