Hunan Provincial Water Transport Construction & Investment Group Co., Ltd. is a large wholly state-owned enterprise directly under the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is mainly responsible for the investment, engineering construction, and operation and maintenance of major water transport infrastructure projects throughout the province that are led, invested in, and constructed by the provincial government, including waterborne navigation-power junctions, ship locks, ports and wharves, and waterways. It focuses on investing in and constructing trunk waterway network projects planned by the state and the province. It is engaged in along-river industrial investment related to water transport, material trade, the operation and management of land and shoreline resources, and outbound investment, among other activities.
