48th Research Institute

The 48th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation is a central government-affiliated scientific research institution located in Hunan, founded in 1964. It currently has 1,159 employees, including 29 experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council, 33 research professor-level senior engineers, and 191 senior engineers.
The 48th Research Institute is a core backbone scientific research and production institution in China mainly focused on microelectronics equipment, solar photovoltaics, thermal equipment, special sensors and measurement and control systems, and other technologies. It is the largest domestic supplier of solar photovoltaic manufacturing equipment and the largest supplier of magnetic materials and new energy storage material manufacturing equipment. It is the first unit in China to enter the global top ten in photovoltaic equipment, and is a designated research and production unit for special sensors and photovoltaic energy systems.
The 48th Research Institute has national-level research platforms including the National Photovoltaic Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, the Science and Technology Industry Active Layer Optimized Growth Technology Innovation Center, the China-Egypt Renewable Energy Joint Laboratory, and the Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Thin Film Sensor Technology. It has mastered multiple equipment common technologies and product key technologies, broken through the technology blockade of developed countries, and leveraged independently controllable core technologies to develop and manufacture equipment and products widely used in key fields such as electronic information, aerospace, aviation, and shipbuilding, strongly supporting and promoting the independently controllable development of the electronic information industry.
