Guangdong Guangwu Holding Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Guangwu Holding Group") was formerly the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Materials, established in 1951. It was transformed into Guangdong Provincial Materials Corporation in 1983, reorganized as Guangdong Materials Group Corporation in 1994, and renamed to Guangdong Guangwu Holding Group Co., Ltd. in 2015. In June 2019, in accordance with the decisions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, it completed a merger and reorganization with the former Guangdong Provincial Commerce Holding Group Co., Ltd. It employs nearly 10,000 staff, has over 200 subsidiary enterprises, and consists of 11 functional departments at the headquarters. It is a large provincial state-owned backbone enterprise group, one of the "Double Hundred Enterprises" of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council for SOE reform, and has been ranked among China's Top 500 Enterprises and China's Top 500 Service Enterprises for more than 20 consecutive years. It has been awarded a credit rating of "AAA".
