In 2002, Ansteel ThyssenKrupp Automotive Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "TAGAL") was established as a joint venture between Angang Steel Company Limited under Ansteel Group and ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, with each holding a 50% stake. It mainly supplies high-quality hot-dip galvanized steel sheets to the automotive industry.
Ansteel ThyssenKrupp (Chongqing) Automotive Steel Co., Ltd. is a joint venture funded jointly by Pangang Group Xichang Steel & Vanadium Co., Ltd. under Ansteel Group Corporation, Ansteel ThyssenKrupp Automotive Steel Co., Ltd., and ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG. It is a major project for the TAGAL brand to achieve full-variety supply.
Relying on the technology and experience of ThyssenKrupp and Ansteel Group, the Ansteel ThyssenKrupp (Chongqing) Automotive Steel project introduces advanced foreign hot-dip galvanized sheet production technology, mainly producing high-strength automotive steel and hot-formed automotive steel products. The company's Phase I project was officially put into operation on September 13, 2015, with a designed annual production capacity of 450,000 tons and an estimated annual output value of RMB 3 billion. The product strength can reach up to 2000 MPa, and surface coatings include hot-dip galvanizing, alloying, and aluminum-silicon coatings, etc. The products are mainly used in the automotive manufacturing industry, high-end home appliances, and the IT industry, with the market covering the entire southwest region and even the national automotive manufacturing industry.
Ansteel ThyssenKrupp (Chongqing) Automotive Steel Co., Ltd. has successively passed ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and IATF16949:2016 certifications, and has been awarded the Level 2 Certification for Work Safety Standardization.
At present, the company has more than 170 employees, and its output value in 2020 was approximately RMB 1.45 billion.
