Snowsky Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. was established on December 16, 2011 (formerly known as Hunan Salt Industry Co., Ltd., a listed company controlled by Hunan Light Industry & Salt Industry Group). Headquartered in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, the company is the first modern joint-stock company in China's salt industry to integrate production and sales and operate across provinces. Since its establishment, it has focused on the production and sales of salt and salt chemical products, with main products including edible salt, industrial salt, livestock salt, Glauber's salt and caustic soda. On March 26, 2018, Snowsky Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. (stock code: 600929) was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, becoming the first salt industry stock after the implementation of the new salt reform policy.
The company owns five national designated salt production enterprises: Xiangheng Salt Chemical, Xiangli Salt Chemical, Jiuer Salt Industry, Snowsky Technology, and Xiangyu Salt Chemical (entrusted management). Its salt and salt chemical production capacity reaches 7 million tons, and its asset scale and comprehensive strength rank among the top three in the national salt industry. It has 143 patents, including 25 invention patents. With Hunan as a solid market origin, the company has established a sales network that fully links inside and outside the province, online and offline, radiating to the whole country and even Southeast Asia. "Snowsky" brand edible salt has a purity of up to 99.6%, currently offering three major series: well and rock salt, sea salt, and lake salt, with more than 30 varieties and over 90 product specifications. It is the designated salt for competitions of the China Cuisine Association and a partner of China's space program.
Based on its main business, Snowsky Salt Industry is achieving "three transformations": from a regional company to a national company, from a pure well and rock salt enterprise to a full-category enterprise covering well and rock salt, sea salt, lake salt, and imported salt, and from a pure salt industry to a salt industry chain cluster, realizing the goal that "among the three pillars of China's salt industry, there must be Snowsky Salt Industry."
