Introduction to Huadian Electric Power Research Institute (abbreviated as "Huadian Electric Power Research Institute", English abbreviation: ;) was founded in October 1956, and is a scientific research institution directly under China Huadian Corporation. It is mainly engaged in thermal power generation technology, hydropower and new energy power generation technology, distributed energy technology, quality inspection and testing, and consulting services, and carries out technical supervision, technical services, and technical research. It is a professional institution for power generation technology research and technological innovation of China Huadian Corporation and the power industry, and also a platform for the Group's domestic and international technical cooperation, talent cultivation, and employee skills training. It has the National Energy Distributed Energy Technology R&D (Experimental) Center, the National Energy Thermal Power Generation System Energy Efficiency Testing Technology R&D Center, the SASAC Power Energy-Saving Technology Research and Test Base, the Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Energy Storage and Building Energy Efficiency, as well as the China Huadian Corporation Power Technology Center, Hydropower Technology Center, New Energy Technology Center, Environmental Protection Supervision Technology Center, and Coal Quality Inspection and Measurement Center, forming an advanced research platform cluster serving Huadian Group and the power industry. It holds the inspection and testing institution qualification certificate issued by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration, Grade A qualifications for thermal power and hydropower engineering consulting, and special Grade qualifications for commissioning of power engineering, and has established a five-in-one management system integrating the administrative system, qualification accreditation system, and quality, environment, occupational health and safety systems of Huadian Electric Power Research Institute. It is the first scientific research institute with qualification accreditation covering all power generation fields among power generation groups.
