China Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd. (Hebei Branch) of CNNC Group, located in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, is a central enterprise unit established in January 2008, reorganized from the former Nuclear Industry Fourth Research and Design Institute's departments engaged in nuclear power-related work. Leveraging over fifty years of rich engineering experience and strong technical strength accumulated in China's nuclear industry, the branch adheres to the work policy of "Nuclear Innovation, Scientific Efficiency, Safety and Environmental Protection, Pursuit of Excellence," with standardized management and enhanced capability. It is one of the important forces of China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (Chinese abbreviation: CNPE; English abbreviation: CNPE) in the nuclear power field, engaged in nuclear island construction drawing design, BOP design, and on-site technical services. It is a backbone unit domestically engaged in supporting design for nuclear projects (research and test reactors, nuclear three wastes, nuclear facility decommissioning and treatment, nuclear technology applications, physical protection, and nuclear emergency), and is an influential design unit in North China for thermal power, heating, and environmental engineering design. The unit has eight management departments including the General Office, Design Management Department, Human Resources Department, Finance Department, Technical Quality Department, and Archives Information Center; and seven design and R&D departments including the Nuclear Power Process Institute, Electrical Automation Institute, Building Structure Institute, Electric Power Engineering Research and Design Institute, Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute, Engineering Department, and Engineering Economy Center. It currently has more than 800 employees, covering over 20 specialties, including 49 researcher-level senior engineers and 262 senior engineers, with 156 qualifications across 29 categories of various professional qualifications, forming a team with strong capabilities in nuclear power, nuclear engineering, and civil engineering design and services. The branch has successively participated in the design work of five nuclear power plants with 8 nuclear power units, including Ling'ao Nuclear Power Phase II, Fuqing Nuclear Power Phase I, Fangjiashan Nuclear Power Project, Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 3 and 4, and Tianwan Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6. Currently, it is conducting the design work for the third-generation nuclear power "Hualong One" ACP1000 with independent intellectual property rights.
