PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. was founded in 1958. It holds multiple qualifications including electric power engineering design, comprehensive engineering investigation, engineering general contracting, engineering consulting, and engineering supervision, as well as the right to conduct foreign economic and technical cooperation. In March 2014, it was certified as a high-tech enterprise.

Over more than fifty years since its establishment, PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. has completed over 1,000 major domestic and international electric power engineering survey, design, and general contracting projects, including power generation installed capacity of over 15,000 MW, total substation capacity of over 16,000 MVA, and over 30,000 kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines. At present, PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. is embarking on the design practice of 1000MW units with a new attitude, becoming one of the few provincial-level electric power design institutes in China with design achievements for million-kilowatt units.

In the past five years, it has won 159 awards at the provincial (ministerial) level or above in engineering survey and design, consulting, scientific research, and new technology development and application, and has chief-edited or co-edited multiple national standards and electric power industry and Jiangxi provincial local standards. In 1996, it was the first in Jiangxi Province's survey and design industry to pass quality system certification, and in 2007 passed quality, environment, and occupational health and safety management system certifications. It has obtained national high-tech enterprise certification. It has repeatedly won honors such as Jiangxi Province and national electric power industry customer-satisfied enterprise, Jiangxi Province and national electric power industry quality-benefit advanced enterprise, Jiangxi Province outstanding enterprise, Jiangxi Province advanced foreign economic enterprise, Jiangxi Province "10th Five-Year" and "11th Five-Year" key engineering construction advanced unit, Jiangxi Province "May 1st" Labor Award, Jiangxi Province labor security AAA credit unit, national electric power industry AAA credit enterprise, national engineering survey and geotechnical industry creditworthy unit, national engineering survey and design industry informatization construction advanced unit, State Grid Corporation cross-regional grid design advanced unit, State Grid Corporation power transmission and transformation engineering design competition advanced unit, and nine consecutive terms as Jiangxi Province civilized unit.
