2015
Collaborating with Deng Li, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire and Head of the Marie Claire Happiness Fund, "Exception" launched a folk art public welfare project in partnership with the Marie Claire Happiness Fund.
Exception founder Mao Jihong was invited to serve as Vice Chairman and Executive Dean of the China Fashion Research Institute at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
2014
Exception was invited to participate in the first China-France Brand Summit Forum held in Paris, France, where Pierre Cardin had a dialogue with Exception's Chairman Mao Jihong, who represented China in a conversation with New French Economy. The forum was part of the activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations.
2013
Exception donated 1 million yuan to the Red Cross Society of China for disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction, and was awarded the "Benevolence" title by the Red Cross Society of China.
Ranked first among the top ten most attractive Chinese designer brands in the "China 2013 Fashion Ranking" published by Fashion Media Group.
2012
As a representative of Chinese design brands, Exception participated in the "China Fashion Design Show" at London Fashion Week, also marking the opening event for the 40th anniversary of China-UK diplomatic relations.
2011
Together with the All-China Women's Federation, Exception launched the "Women's Volunteer Service Special Fund" in Beijing.
Collaborating with cultural and creative elites from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, Exception created a new cultural life brand Fangsuo Commune, whose first concept store opened at Guangzhou Taikoo Hui, becoming a major cultural event of the year.
Launched the brand's first experimental menswear series.
2010
Invited to participate in the 2010 China Fashion Forum, and as the rotating chairman of the 2009 China Fashion Forum, Exception's Chairman Mao Jihong delivered the annual viewpoint release.
2009
Participated in the "Flowing Rivers" art exhibition curated by the Royal College of Art in the UK, which deconstructed Chinese exhibitions through cross-references among architecture, art, and design, inspiring dialogue between China and other cultures.
As a representative of Chinese garment enterprises, participated in the IICOGRA 2009 Beijing World Design Congress special exhibition "Design Productivity" with the theme "Crossing Design, Touching the Soul," aiming to use design to reconnect deeply with people and explore the sustainable value of brands and enterprises.
2007
Exception, as an invited fashion brand, showcased clothing at the fourth Global Textile Economy Forum.
Awarded the title of "Public Welfare Star Enterprise" by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund.
2006
The Center for Case Studies at Fudan University's School of Management selected Exception as the first brand for case-based cooperation. The China Garment Association and the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture established the China-France Cooperation Committee in 2005, and Exception was selected as an outstanding Chinese brand enterprise to join the committee.
2005
The BIFT-Exception Traditional Clothing Application Research Institute was established, aiming to serve as a platform for integrating traditional clothing preservation with design re-creation.
Awarded the "2005 China Garment Industry Most Influential Brand" title.
2004
Invited to participate in CHIC04, China's largest international garment expo.
Received the "China's Most Fashionable Women's Wear Brand" award from the China Fashion Week Committee / China Fashion Designers Association, and the first "2003-2004 China Garment Brand Annual Award" organized by the China Garment Association.
