China Academy of Railway Sciences (Shenzhen) Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd.

The China Academy of Railway Sciences was founded on March 1, 1950. It is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive research institute under the Ministry of Railways, and serves as the center for railway scientific research, testing, inspection of industrial products and materials, scientific and technological information, and standard metrology.
The Shenzhen Research and Design Institute was established in February 1992 and serves as the external window of the China Academy of Railway Sciences in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macao areas. It subsequently established branch offices in Foshan, Daya Bay, and Dongguan. Relying on the comprehensive technical capabilities, talent, and equipment advantages of the China Academy of Railway Sciences, the Institute is oriented toward engineering construction and is mainly engaged in engineering supervision, engineering design, foundation treatment, engineering blasting, and engineering inspection, as well as survey and design, supervision, inspection, and new technology development, research, and consulting for bridge structures and underground works.
The Shenzhen Research and Design Institute holds a Grade A supervision qualification issued by the Ministry of Construction. Supervision was the earliest business through which the Shenzhen Institute entered the local market. With market development, it gradually became one of the pillar industries of the Shenzhen Institute and enjoys a good social reputation in Shenzhen and even Guangdong Province. The Shenzhen Research and Design Institute currently has 450 employees, including more than 310 supervision practitioners, and holds 435 certificates of various types, including National Registered Supervision Engineer, National First-Class Registered Structural Engineer, National Registered Cost Engineer, National Registered Geotechnical Engineer, Project Manager, and Engineering Quality Inspection, among others.
Since the implementation of the engineering construction supervision system, the Shenzhen Institute has achieved great results in supervision work in urban rail transit, urban roads, bridge engineering, highway engineering, geotechnical engineering, and civil engineering. Up to now, it has undertaken more than 170 supervision projects, involving a total project investment of approximately RMB 52 billion. Completed urban rail projects include the Phase I extension section of Shenzhen Metro (OCT - Window of the World) and the experimental section of the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 continuation project. Urban rail transit projects under construction include Contract Section 5 of the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 continuation project, the Qianhai Depot of the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 continuation project, Contract 2103 of Shenzhen Metro Line 2, supervision of the Henggang double-deck depot of Shenzhen Metro Line 3, supervision of the ground and elevated section C432 of Phase II of Shenzhen Metro Line 4, supervision of the depot of Shenzhen Metro Line 5 and supervision management of the entire line, and supervision of vehicles and electromechanical equipment of Shenzhen Metro Line 2. Completed municipal road supervision projects include the Shenzhen Binhai Avenue project, the Shenzhen side connection project of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Western Corridor, the traffic supporting project around the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, and the Shenzhen Fulong Road municipal project. Municipal road projects under construction include the Shenzhen Hongmian Road municipal project, the Beitongdao municipal project in Longgang District of Shenzhen, and the Dongguan Avenue extension project, among a large number of large-scale municipal road engineering projects, and have won multiple municipal, provincial, and national awards.
