Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. was established on August 3, 2001. Its predecessor, Guangdong Yuedian Asset Management Co., Ltd., was the first power generation enterprise in China established due to the 'separation of power plants from the grid' power system reform. In 2003, it was renamed Guangdong Yuedian Group Co., Ltd. On February 18, 2019, it was officially renamed Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company'). The registered capital of the Company is RMB 23.3 billion, with the Guangdong Provincial Government and China Huaneng Group holding 76% and 24% equity respectively.
After more than two decades of reform and development, the Company has formed a power industry pattern with coal-fired power generation and natural gas power generation as the core, and coordinated development of upstream and downstream industrial chains including new energy development, shipping, ports, import and export, finance, energy storage, and energy-saving services.
