Chongqing Construction Science Research Institute was founded in 1959. It is a comprehensive research institute integrating building structures, building materials, foundation engineering, municipal engineering, highway engineering, construction project quality inspection, engineering consulting management, and other specialties. It currently has more than 700 employees, with 94.2% having a college degree or above. Among them, there are more than 100 professor-level senior engineers and senior engineers, more than 300 engineers, 11 Ph.D. holders, and more than 50 master's degree holders.
Chongqing Construction Science Research Institute has under it the Architectural Design Institute, Building Materials Design and Research Institute, Structural Engineering Research Institute, Concrete Engineering Research Institute, New Technology Application Research Institute, Foundation Engineering Research Institute, Engineering Appraisal and Reinforcement Research Institute, Economic and Technological Research Institute, Engineering Cost Consulting Office, "Chongqing Architecture" Magazine, Engineering Supervision Company, Special Engineering Department, Chongqing Food Industry Research Institute, etc. It has comprehensive capabilities in engineering design, engineering supervision, engineering construction, engineering quality inspection, new technology and new material application and development, technical service consulting, etc. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Personnel, it established a postdoctoral scientific research workstation. In the same year, its Engineering Quality Inspection and Testing Center passed national laboratory accreditation.
Chongqing Construction Science Research Institute mainly operates the following businesses: accepting commissions to undertake inspection and testing of construction projects, highway projects, building components, products, and all materials, building structures, and quality at construction project sites; accepting commissions to undertake quality inspection and testing tasks for major construction projects; providing business guidance and technical training to building laboratories and building inspection institutions; participating in the appraisal and testing of scientific and technological achievements for new structures, new technologies, and new products in construction projects; accepting commissions to undertake indoor environmental pollution testing for construction projects; undertaking construction project quality supervision and testing tasks assigned by the Chongqing Engineering Quality Supervision Station and relevant departments; accepting commissions to undertake judicial appraisal of construction project quality.
