The Institute of Microelectronics Industry Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Chongqing) (Chongqing Branch of the National Exemplary School of Microelectronics, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China) (abbreviated as the "Institute") was established in July 2019. At its inception, under the witness of leaders from the Chongqing Municipal Government and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chongqing Xiyong Microelectronics Industrial Park and the university signed a cooperation agreement, aiming to thoroughly implement the national innovation-driven development strategy and fully carry out General Secretary Xi's requirements for Chongqing: the "Two Points" positioning, the "Two Places" and "Two Highs" goals, and the "Four Solid" requirements. According to the plan of the "Chongqing Action Plan for Prospering the City through Science and Education and Strengthening the City through Talent 2018-2020", facing major national strategic needs, strengthening items and shoring up weak spots, fully relying on the strong industrial foundation of Chongqing Xiyong Microelectronics Industrial Park in integrated circuits, intelligent terminals, etc., and giving play to the advantages of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in talent cultivation, scientific research, technological innovation, etc., to strongly promote the construction of Xiyong Microelectronics Park and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. At the same time, as a project implemented after the Sichuan-Chongqing Economic and Social Development Comprehensive Cooperation Symposium, the Institute will actively integrate into the national grand strategy of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, boost the construction of the Western Science City, and contribute to serving the development of Chongqing's electronic information industry.
