Skywell New Energy Automobile Group is a high-tech enterprise integrating the R&D, production, sales, and service of new energy vehicles and core components. In 2010, Huang Hongsheng, the founder of Skyworth Group, established Skywell Automobile Group in Nanjing and acquired and restructured Nanjing Golden Dragon Bus Manufacturing Co., Ltd. After taking control of Nanjing Golden Dragon, Skywell Automobile Group focused on shifting its core business from traditional midibuses to new energy vehicles, becoming the largest new energy commercial vehicle headquarters enterprise in Nanjing. The headquarters of Skywell Automobile Group is located in Nanjing Lishui Development Zone, covering an area of 830,000 square meters with a construction area of 500,000 square meters, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan, capable of producing 20,000 large and medium-sized buses, 200,000 light buses, and 100,000 passenger cars annually. The company currently has more than 4,000 employees and has established a nationwide presence, with production bases in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Xuzhou, Hohhot, Xi'an, and Weinan. In 2014, the group's core subsidiary, Nanjing Golden Dragon Bus Manufacturing Co., Ltd., ranked second nationally in sales of pure electric buses; from 2015 to 2017, it ranked fourth; in 2018, it ranked third; in 2019, it ranked second; and in 2020, it sold 6,232 pure electric buses, ranking third nationwide. In terms of technology R&D, Skywell Automobile has a technical team of nearly 800 people, led by experts, doctors, and masters, bringing together the country's outstanding research and testing teams and advanced technical achievements. Its new energy technology development platform achieves first-class domestic standards in independent R&D and testing; its technical achievements create first-class domestic products in areas such as intelligent electric drive, vehicle control strategies, electrical safety assurance, lightweighting, comfort design, and interior/exterior trim. In 2014, it passed the review of the "Nanjing High-End Talent Team Introduction Project," becoming the only new energy vehicle enterprise in Nanjing to be included. In addition to closely following the national new energy strategy, the company has also made breakthroughs in industry-university-research cooperation and innovation, and was rated as a "2017 China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Good Case." Through independent innovation and external cooperation, Skywell has applied for a total of 1,214 patents, including 439 invention patents, and has been granted 720 patents, including 29 invention patents. Facing fierce future market competition and the decline of new energy subsidies, Skywell Group has achieved breakthroughs in core "three-electric" technologies. In 2015, it established Nanjing Sky Source Tian Di Power Technology Co., Ltd. (Skysource), focusing on the design, R&D, and production of rechargeable power battery packs and battery management systems, automotive wiring harnesses, high-voltage distribution boxes, motor controllers, BMS, and other core automotive components and systems. It is committed to producing safe, high-quality, efficient, and environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery packs and management systems through advanced battery technology, perfectly complementing new energy vehicles, new energy vehicle charging stations, and grid energy storage systems, providing customers with high-quality new energy battery system solutions. In recent years, Skywell Automobile has repeatedly won major national and provincial special projects for key technology breakthroughs and core technology research. In October 2018, the independently developed "New Generation VCU and BMS Two-in-One Controller" won the "Outstanding Project Award" of the National Technology Golden Bridge Award, marking Skywell Automobile's first national technology award. In 2019, Skywell Automobile launched the independently developed Level 4 autonomous sightseeing vehicle "Blue Whale," which received the "Best City Innovation Application Award of ICT China Innovation Project 2019." In May of the same year, Skywell Automobile was listed among China's unicorn enterprises. In 2017, Skywell Automobile officially entered the passenger car market, promoting both commercial and passenger vehicles simultaneously. It is expected that by 2025, it will achieve annual production and sales of 20,000 large buses, with main business revenue of 20 billion yuan; 200,000 light vehicles, with main business revenue of 20 billion yuan; 500,000 passenger cars, with main business revenue of 50 billion yuan; and component main business revenue of 30 billion yuan, with total annual revenue exceeding 120 billion yuan. This will achieve the group's goal of a hundred-billion-level new energy vehicle enterprise.
