Hitachi Metals, Ltd. (Japanese: ひたちきんぞく) was established in 1956 (Showa 31), with its headquarters located at Shibaura 1-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo. To date, Hitachi Metals, Ltd. covers products in fields such as electronics, automobiles, machinery, construction, and environment, including IT components and materials, magnetic application components, flat panel displays, computer and semiconductor integrated circuit devices, automotive parts and materials, environmental system products, aerospace and nuclear power industry materials, etc. Hitachi Metals is proficient in manufacturing high-speed steel and high-grade special steel, and its die steel products hold the largest market share in Japan and have received high acclaim in the international market. It is also the leading producer in Japan of steel piston ring materials for automobile piston rings.

The former Jiusuikeng Hitachi Metals Factory in Panyu District, Guangzhou, is directly under Hitachi Metals (Hong Kong) Limited, with main products including soft ferrite cores, transformers, and coils. It is located in the Jiusuikeng Village Industrial Development Zone, Panyu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. The factory was established in October 1994, covering an area of 35,000 square meters, and currently has more than 900 employees. Adhering to the business philosophy of "customer first, quality is life," the factory obtained ISO9001 quality management system certification in March 2002 and ISO14001 environmental management system certification in December 2004.
