The company, originally named Hainan Jinpan Industrial Co., Ltd., was established in January 1993 as a joint-stock company based on the former Haikou Industrial Construction Development Corporation, with the approval of the Hainan Provincial Joint-Stock System Pilot Leading Group Office (Document Qiong Ban Zi [1993] No. 1). On August 8, 1994, it was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with the approval of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (Document Shen Zheng Zi [1994] No. 18). On January 5, 2007, the company name was changed from Hainan Jinpan Industrial Co., Ltd. to Haima Investment Group Co., Ltd., and the enterprise legal person business license was renewed on January 10, 2007. Upon review and approval at the company's 2010 annual general meeting, the Chinese name was changed from "Haima Investment Group Co., Ltd." to "Haima Automobile Group Co., Ltd.", and the English name was changed from "HAIMA INVESTMENT GROUP CO., LTD." to "HAIMA AUTOMOBILE GROUP CO., LTD.", with the industrial and commercial registration change procedures completed.
On May 28, 2019, the company name was changed from "Haima Automobile Group Co., Ltd." to "Haima Automobile Co., Ltd.", and the English name was changed from Haima Automobile Group Co., Ltd. to Haima Automobile Co., Ltd.
