Dachan Bay Terminal is a brand-new* container terminal within the western port area of Shenzhen, and an ideal hub for distributing goods from major production bases across the Pan-Pearl River Delta. The terminal is one of the major projects of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, with 5 deep-water berths, a total area of 112 hectares, a quay length of 1,830 meters, and a depth of 600 meters. The initial water depth at the front is -15.5 meters, and can be dredged to -18 meters in the long term. It adopts a full set of twin 40-foot quay cranes, capable of efficiently handling large vessels. It is also the world's first terminal to adopt a full set of electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes, offering high efficiency, low carbon emissions, and environmental friendliness.

Shenzhen Dachan Bay Terminal is wholly owned by Shenzhen Dachan Bay Modern Port Development Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 7.073 billion. The company's two shareholders are: Modern Terminals Limited -- a long-established terminal operator in Hong Kong, holding 65% of the shares, and Shenzhen Yantian Port Group Co., Ltd. (a state-owned enterprise), holding 35% of the shares. Dachan Bay Terminal is managed by Modern Terminals Limited, which has thirty-six years of terminal operation experience and possesses extensive experience in operating some of the world's busiest ports.
