Shenzhen Founder Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (FMIC) is a national high-tech enterprise engaged in integrated circuit chip manufacturing. Founded in December 2003, it is a domestic manufacturer that has achieved 6-inch SiC device development and manufacturing, possessing industry-leading process manufacturing capabilities and a mature and complete range of process categories, providing high-quality power device wafer manufacturing and technical services to global customers.
In August 2021, Shenzhen Major Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd. (the city's strategic major industrial investment platform, a wholly state-owned functional enterprise directly managed by the Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission) successfully acquired Founder Microelectronics, incorporating the company into the important industrial chain link of Shenzhen's integrated circuit industry "learning and catching up" development strategy, importing global scientific and technological resources, assisting the development of strategic emerging industries, and committing to build Founder Microelectronics into a national third-generation semiconductor manufacturing highland.
The company currently has about 1,300 employees, with R&D teams accounting for 30%, and an average industry experience of 10 years.
The company has completed the transformation and switch of its silicon-based business and is rapidly advancing its third-generation semiconductor business. The third-generation semiconductor industrialization base currently under construction will introduce an intelligent advanced manufacturing system and build a wafer manufacturing center, with a total construction area of approximately 290,000 square meters and a cleanroom area of approximately 27,000 square meters. It is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 500,000 wafers for third-generation semiconductor products around 2026.
