Shanghai East China Railway Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. (formerly the Construction Supervision Company of Shanghai Railway Bureau) was founded in 1993. It has three branch companies in Bengbu, Shanghai, and Fuzhou. It is a supervision enterprise with Class A qualifications in railway engineering, building engineering, municipal public works, and metro and light rail engineering, and is also a Class A cost engineering consulting unit. The company has passed the ISO9001:2000 quality management system certification. The company has gathered more than 160 professional and technical personnel, including 112 registered supervision engineers certified by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Railways, and 18 registered cost engineers certified by the Ministry of Construction. It has the capability to undertake construction supervision and investment supervision of large and medium-sized comprehensive construction projects. Since its establishment more than ten years ago, the company has successively undertaken more than 400 various projects. The large and medium-sized projects supervised by the company include the Xiaoyong Railway Double-track, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, the auxiliary facilities of the Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge, the Meikan Railway, Shanghai Rail Transit Line 3, the GE (China) Research and Development Center, the second line of the Xuanhang Railway, the electrification renovation of the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Line, and the Pudong Railway. The cost consulting and investment supervision projects include the Wuhu Hub Outer Loop Line, the electrical and technical renovation of the Wai-Fu Line, the renovation of the south facade of Shanghai Station, the expansion of the East District Station in Jinhua, and the conversion of the Shanghai-Hangzhou Line from single-track to double-track. Projects managed by the company have repeatedly won national "Luban" awards, the Ministry of Railways' "High-Quality Engineering" award, Shanghai's "Magnolia" and "Pujiang Cup" awards, Zhejiang Province's "Qianjiang Cup" award, and Anhui Province's "Huangshan Cup" award, among others. The company has been commended and rewarded by local governments for four consecutive years. In 2002 and 2003, it was rated as an A-class supervision enterprise by the Ministry of Railways for bid commitment and contract fulfillment, and in 2002, it was awarded the title of Advanced Supervision Unit by the Railway Engineering Construction Association.
