Happy Valley Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Happy Valley Company") is a second-tier subsidiary of OCT Group, a large central enterprise directly managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) (which has repeatedly been honored as one of the Top 30 National Cultural Enterprises and Top 20 Chinese Tourism Groups), headquartered in Shenzhen. Currently, it manages 25 themed parks across 13 cities nationwide, including 3 AAAAA-level scenic spots and 9 AAAA-level scenic spots. "Happy Valley" is a leading themed park brand in China, a TOP brand in CCTV's National Brand Plan, and a chain of themed parks in China.
Shanghai Happy Valley is a AAAA-level tourist attraction and a masterpiece invested by OCT Group with 4 billion RMB. It was completed and opened on September 12, 2009. As of September 2024, it has cumulatively received nearly 50 million visitors.
The park covers an area of 650,000 square meters and features seven themed areas: Sunshine Harbor, Happy Times, Shanghai Bund, Shangri-La, Happy Ocean, Gold Mine Town, and Hurricane Bay. It has introduced global high-tech amusement projects from the United States, Switzerland, and other countries, such as the "Ultimate Glory" (a 60-meter floorless drop roller coaster), "Valley Wood Roller Coaster" (a 1200-meter wooden coaster), "Ocean Adventure" (a family suspended coaster), and "Star of the Ocean" (a 6D virtual coaster), making it one of the themed parks where young people, families, and all visitors can enjoy themselves.
Shanghai Happy Valley launches a variety of colorful themed festivals throughout the year, including the China-Chic Culture Festival, Super Children's Day, EV Music Festival, Amazing Trendy Play Festival, and Shining Joy Festival, ensuring 365 days of continuous fun.
There are also splendid performances from around the world, such as the large-scale cross-media live water show "Sky Water Polar", the film special effects live-action drama "New Shanghai Bund Storm", as well as joyful sea lion shows, float parades, and other colorful zero-distance interactive performances, with non-stop entertainment every day.
