Guangzhou Chest Hospital

Guangzhou Chest Hospital, founded in 1953, is a public institution of category II under the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission. It also bears the names of "Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Affiliated Guangzhou Chest Hospital", "Guangzhou Medical University Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment Research Institute", and "Guangzhou Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment Center". It is the largest hospital in South China with specialized features in chest and lung diseases and tuberculosis, as well as comprehensive medical services, integrating medical treatment, education, research, and prevention. The hospital is located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain and beside Luhu Lake, with a beautiful environment and convenient transportation. It has over 1,100 employees and 800 beds, serves as a PI unit of the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases, and hosts a Guangdong Provincial Doctoral Workstation and a Guangzhou Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. It undertakes the organization and implementation of tuberculosis control in Guangzhou, and provides guidance on business, quality control, supervision, and training for tuberculosis prevention institutions in various districts of Guangzhou. It has taken the lead in establishing the South China Tuberculosis Specialty Alliance, Guangzhou Anti-Tuberculosis Association, and the "Medical-Nursing-Care" medical consortium, and enjoys a high reputation across the province and the country.
