Bank of China Shenzhen Branch was established in 1978. *Initially, it was an office with only 52 people split off from the People's Bank of China. Along with the rapid development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the Shenzhen Office was upgraded to a sub-branch in 1979, reorganized into the Shenzhen Branch in 1981, and became a first-level branch directly managed by the head office in 1997.
For over 40 years, Bank of China Shenzhen Branch has always taken serving the real economy as its mission, growing together with the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. It has cumulatively extended over one trillion yuan in loans and paid over one hundred billion yuan in taxes and profits to the state. It has now developed into a modern state-owned commercial bank first-level branch with more than 150 operating institutions and over 6,000 employees, featuring comprehensive functions, advanced technology, and prudent operations. Facing the new opportunities driven by the "dual zones," Bank of China Shenzhen Branch will further leverage the globalization and comprehensive advantages of Bank of China, using continuous financial innovation to boost Shenzhen's sustained high-quality development, and writing a new chapter of reform and development in the new era as a pilot demonstration.
