CCCC First Highway Institute

CCCC First Highway Survey, Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CCCC First Highway Institute") was founded in 1952, originally under the Ministry of Transport, and is now a second-level subsidiary of China Communications Construction Group. It is a well-known enterprise in planning, design, and consulting in China's transportation engineering industry, a maker of industry standards and norms, and a pioneer in scientific and technological innovation in the industry. It possesses high-end scientific and technological innovation platforms such as national key laboratories, national industry R&D centers, and post-doctoral research stations; and holds qualifications including comprehensive Class A in engineering survey and engineering design. The engineering projects it has led in planning and design are spread across 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions nationwide and more than 30 countries and regions globally. Classic landmark projects represented by the "China Road" - the world's first high-altitude, high-cold permafrost-region expressway, the Gongyu Expressway; the "China Bridge" - the century project, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge; and the "China Tunnel" - the construction of the highway tunnel, the Qinling Tiantai Mountain Tunnel, represent the colorful ribbons drawn by CCCC First Highway Institute on the motherland.
CCCC First Highway Institute boasts national survey and design masters, the "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" talents, experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and national young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovation talents; and has successively won 3 first prizes and 6 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, among which the technology for highway construction and maintenance in permafrost regions represents China's international level in this field. CCCC First Highway Institute is an important participant in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and a technical contributor to transportation engineering, committed to designing roads of prosperity, bridges of connection, and cities of happiness, contributing the CCCC First Highway Institute solutions to the connectivity of the "Belt and Road", and has designed and completed multiple expressways in countries along the "Belt and Road". Engineering projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Algeria East-West Expressway, the Ethiopia AA Expressway, and the Uganda National Gateway Road are the "Belt and Road" fine works drawn by CCCC First Highway Institute.
