China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. is a clean energy state-owned enterprise supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, with nuclear power as its main business. It was registered and established in September 1994. Currently, its installed capacity of nuclear power in operation ranks first in China.
As of December 2009, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group had nearly 4 million kilowatts of nuclear power units in operation at Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station and Ling'ao Nuclear Power Station Phase I, and about 21 million kilowatts under construction at Ling'ao Phase II, Liaoning Hongyanhe, Fujian Ningde, Yangjiang, and Taishan nuclear power stations. Pre-construction work was underway for about 4.7 million kilowatts of nuclear power units at Guangxi Fangchenggang and Hubei Xianning projects.
In other clean energy sectors, the total installed capacity of wind power exceeded 1.3 million kilowatts; China's first photovoltaic power generation concession project—the 10-megawatt project in Dunhuang, Gansu—had started construction; hydropower installed capacity reached 587,000 kilowatts with 620,000 kilowatts under construction, and it also held 1.12 million kilowatts of equity interest in conventional power in operation.
As of the end of January 2010, CGN Group had total assets of approximately 147 billion yuan and net assets of approximately 50.6 billion yuan. Among them, net assets were 15 times the 3.24 billion yuan at the initial stage of the group's establishment.

Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station is China's first large-scale commercial nuclear power station, located in the eastern part of Shenzhen. It was approved for preparation at the beginning of reform and opening up, approved for construction in 1986, and put into operation in 1994.
In accordance with the national deployment for central enterprises to enhance international competitiveness and the "going global" strategy, CGN Group has seized the opportunity of the recovery of the international nuclear power market, actively implemented its internationalization strategy, and participated in international division of labor and cooperation in clean energy fields such as nuclear power, showing good development prospects.
