Nanchang 334 Hospital was founded in 1953. It is a large comprehensive hospital directly under the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Health, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, healthcare, occupational disease prevention and treatment, and health examinations. It is a teaching and internship base for many medical colleges and universities, including the Medical College of Nanchang University, Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gannan Medical University, the Medical College of Jiujiang University, Jiangxi Provincial Health School, and Nanchang Municipal Health School.
The hospital is located at No. 97, Dong'er Road, Xinxi Bridge, Qingyunpu District, covering an area of 60 mu, with a medical building area of 49,500 square meters. The hospital has a beautiful environment and was approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Health in 2012 to be set up as a tertiary hospital.
The hospital has been confirmed by the Provincial Department of Health as a designated medical institution for the provincial new rural cooperative medical system; a provincial designated medical institution for mental illness; and a designated medical institution for urban employees and residents of Nanchang City. The hospital is a Nanchang 120 medical emergency network hospital, a provincial demonstration unit for comprehensive prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, a Jiangxi provincial occupational disease monitoring unit, and a designated medical institution for tuberculosis prevention and treatment in Qingyunpu District.
The hospital has more than 20 outpatient departments including expert, specialty, and special disease clinics. It receives more than 150,000 patient visits annually and has more than 8,000 inpatients per year. The hospital is a teaching and internship base for many medical colleges and universities, including the Medical College of Nanchang University, Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gannan Medical University, the Medical College of Jiujiang University, Jiangxi Provincial Health School, and Nanchang Municipal Health School.
The hospital currently has 524 authorized beds and more than 600 staff members, including 482 health technical personnel, 196 medical staff with intermediate or higher professional titles, 81 with senior professional titles (including 36 full senior titles), 21 professors and adjunct professors, and 3 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council.
The hospital has strong medical technical strength. Aiming at the frontiers of domestic and international medicine, it actively carries out advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, such as gamma knife tumor treatment technology, minimally invasive endoscopic technology, and interventional diagnostic and treatment technology. After more than 60 years of development, the hospital has a complete range of departments. It has multiple expert, specialty, and special disease outpatient clinics, and a total of 60 management functional departments, medical technology departments, and clinical first- and second-level business departments. Among them, the psychiatry department, oncology department, obstetrics and gynecology department, hemodialysis room, and internal medicine department are the hospital's characteristic departments.
The hospital is equipped with spiral CT, gamma knife (including head knife and body knife), tumor ultrasound treatment equipment (ultrasound thrombus therapeutic apparatus), linear accelerator, three-dimensional color ultrasound diagnostic apparatus, digital gastrointestinal endoscope, C-arm angiography machine, magnetic resonance imaging, and other advanced equipment. The hospital also has three laminar flow operating rooms.
