Minmetals Securities Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Minmetals Securities" or "the Company") was established in August 2000 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, a frontier city of China's reform and opening up. It is a comprehensive securities company and one of the first securities companies in Shenzhen to be awarded the qualification of a standardized securities firm. The Company currently has one wholly-owned subsidiary — Minmetals Jintong Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd. — and has established branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and key cities across the country. As of December 2018, a total of 46 branches (including branch companies and business departments) had opened, with business outlets covering major regions such as North China, South China, East China and Southwest China.

Minmetals Securities is a securities company absolutely controlled by Minmetals Capital Holdings Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned company of Minmetals Capital Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Minmetals Capital", stock code: 600390), which is the financial holding platform of China Minmetals Corporation (referred to as "China Minmetals", ranked 109th in the 2018 Fortune Global 500).

China Minmetals is an international metal mining enterprise group in China formed by the strategic reorganization of two Fortune Global 500 companies (formerly China Minmetals and MCC Group), and is a globally renowned metallurgical construction and operation service provider. As the controlling financial holding platform of China Minmetals, Minmetals Capital holds a full set of financial licenses recognized by the "One Bank and Two Commissions", and was successfully listed on the capital market through reorganization in December 2016.
