"Churentang" Pharmacy's predecessor — Hunan Provincial Medicinal Materials Company — was founded in 1954 and is a time-honored pharmaceutical enterprise with a 60-year history. In 2009, Hunan Xiangyao Group acquired Hunan Provincial Medicinal Materials Company, restructured Hunan Churentang Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd., and established Hunan Xiangxing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with over 1,000 manufacturers, holds nearly 200 exclusive agency drug varieties, and operates over 10,000 drug specifications.
