It is the "rice bag" of Shenzhen and an important vehicle for ensuring grain security and serving people's livelihood in South China. The predecessor of Shenzhen Cereals Holdings was the Bao'an County Grain Bureau. After the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, it evolved into the Shenzhen Municipal Grain Bureau, and in 1982 was changed to Shenzhen Grain and Oil Company. In 1984, it took the lead in nationwide grain circulation system reform. In 1993, it was renamed Shenzhen Grain General Company. In 1998, it was renamed Shenzhen Cereals Group Co., Ltd. In 2018, it completed asset restructuring with Shenzhen Shenbao Industrial Co., Ltd. and was officially listed on the capital market, becoming the "first stock of overall listing of a local grain enterprise".
