Changsha Urban Planning Information Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was established on July 28, 2001, and is a self-financed public institution.
The Center has a team with a reasonable structure in terms of education, profession, and age, full of enthusiasm, vitality, innovation, and a pioneering and united spirit. The team's expertise covers multiple fields including computers, geographic information systems, surveying and mapping, urban and rural planning, and architecture. There are currently more than 200 employees, including over 70 master's and doctoral graduates, and more than 80 with intermediate and senior professional titles.
The Center values scientific research innovation and industry collaboration. It has jointly established the "Wuhan University Digital City Research Center (Changsha Base)" with Wuhan University, and jointly built school-enterprise internship bases with Wuhan University, Central South University, and Hunan Normal University. It is a standing council member unit of the China Association of City Planning, a deputy director unit of the New Technology Application Committee of the Urban Planning Society of China, a council member unit of the China Geographic Information Industry Association, a member unit of the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, and the director unit of the Planning Informatization Professional Committee of the Hunan Provincial Urban and Rural Planning Society. Currently, 28 software products have obtained national copyright registration certificates, and 7 projects have been approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The Center has undertaken more than 200 planning and construction projects and has repeatedly won provincial and ministerial awards such as the First Prize for Excellent Design in China Urban and Rural Planning, the Silver Award for Excellent Engineering in China Geographic Information, and the First Prize for Excellent Design in Hunan Provincial Urban and Rural Planning.
The Center is committed to providing driving force for business innovation of urban and rural planning and construction departments in the "Internet+" era, and to becoming a comprehensive provider of information technology services, new technology research and application, and big data analysis and application services in the field of planning and construction. The Center's main responsibilities are to provide planning information technology services for urban and rural construction; to be responsible for the organization, mining analysis, and digital processing of archives of urban and rural planning information data, urban and rural planning technical services and consulting, research and development, promotion, and training of urban and rural planning information technology (products), related urban and rural planning formulation, design, and research, and to be responsible for related geographic information database construction and services.
