Hunan Corun New Energy Co., Ltd. was founded in 1998, entered the advanced energy storage materials industry with patented technology and rose rapidly. In 2003, it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with stock code 600478. The company is headquartered in Changsha High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with eight industrial bases in Shanghai, Changsha, and Japan, creating a complete industrial chain from advanced energy storage materials, advanced batteries, automotive power battery energy packs to hybrid electric vehicle powertrain systems and battery recycling systems, with fully independent intellectual property rights. Its products have successfully entered the high-end supply chain of Toyota, Honda, and others, fully integrating into the international high-end industrial division.
The company fully implements lean management and intelligent manufacturing, integrating Industry 4.0, with strong independent innovation platforms and a hybrid electric vehicle powertrain system platform. In 2009, Corun led the establishment of the National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials, which is currently the only national engineering center in the field of advanced energy storage materials and technologies. In October 2014, it jointly established Corun Hybrid Technology Co., Ltd. with Geely Holding Group to develop the CHS deep hybrid powertrain project, breaking the technical bottleneck of China's hybrid electric vehicle development.
The company currently has nearly 4,000 employees, including more than 500 with master's degrees or above. Led by Dr. Zhong Faping, it brings together over 100 well-known experts, professors, and academicians in the battery industry at home and abroad, including dozens of Japanese experts. After more than ten years of hard work, it has achieved a leading position in the advanced energy storage materials and high-energy power battery industry. The company owns 357 core patents with independent intellectual property rights and has obtained 283 global patent licenses. Its engineering transformation capability and technology have reached the international advanced level, making it an important production, R&D base and sales service center for advanced energy storage materials, automotive power batteries, and energy storage application systems in China.
