Sanzhen Rehabilitation originated in 2002. It is a comprehensive rehabilitation service platform initiated by Xiangya students with employee shareholding. After more than 20 years of development, it has built the "Sanzhen Rehabilitation MALL" in Changsha, including tertiary and secondary rehabilitation hospitals, a community medical rehabilitation network, rehabilitation engineering, and a rehabilitation supermarket. In terms of disciplines, it has initially formed a comprehensive tertiary rehabilitation system integrating medicine, education, and research, featuring neurological rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, and community rehabilitation. It has ranked among the top 30 rehabilitation hospitals in China's hospital competitiveness and the top 10 social rehabilitation hospitals (Ailibi) for five consecutive years. Its affiliated institutions are teaching hospitals of six institutions including Xiangya School of Medicine of Central South University and Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. It has qualifications for national cross-regional medical insurance settlement, work injury rehabilitation, and disabled person rehabilitation agreement hospitals. It is a hospital for social medical service capacity building in Hunan Province, the chairman unit of the Hunan Stroke Early Rehabilitation Tele-collaboration Alliance, the chairman unit of the Physical Therapy Professional Committee of Hunan Rehabilitation Medical Association, the vice chairman of the Hunan Neurorehabilitation Alliance, the vice chairman of the Hunan Stroke Alliance, a provincial rehabilitation medical service pilot unit in Hunan, a demonstration hospital for early rehabilitation of acute stroke in Hunan Province, and a demonstration medical institution for the value-based payment reform of rehabilitation disease groups in Changsha.
In recent years, the institution has explored the Sanzhen model in selecting, cultivating, utilizing, and retaining talents: it was the first in the domestic rehabilitation industry to launch a partnership plan. Currently, nearly 50 people have become Sanzhen partners, and more than 10 people serve as members or standing committee members of national academic groups, and chairpersons or vice chairpersons of provincial academic organizations.
