Jinrui New Materials Science & Technology Co., Ltd. was jointly initiated and established by five entities: Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., the 48th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (formerly the 48th Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry), Changsha High-tech Industrial Development Zone Yinjia Technology Co., Ltd., and China Metallurgical Import & Export Hunan Company, and was approved for establishment by the State Economic and Trade Commission under Document Guo Jing Mao Qi Gai [1999] No. 718.
On December 14, 2000, approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission under Document Zheng Jian Fa Xing Zi [2000] No. 173, the Company publicly issued 40 million RMB ordinary shares (A shares) to the public. In 2006, the Company implemented the split share structure reform.
In April 2017, the Company's name was changed from Jinrui New Materials Science & Technology Co., Ltd. to Minmetals Capital Company Limited, and its English name was changed from Kingray New Materials Science & Technology Co., Ltd. to Minmetals Capital Company Limited.
