广东省科学院是广东省政府直属事业单位，1978年成立，2015年重组。目前拥有17家下属科研机构、4000余人的科研人才队伍，其中包含7名院士、120余名科技*人才、1000名高级职称科技人员、1600名博士硕士青年科技人才。高水平论文、发明专利、“四技”收入、人才队伍、科研项目数量等在全国地方科研机构中*；微生物学、动植物学、材料科学、环境生态学等10个学科进入全球前1%；18人入选全球前2%顶尖科学家；建有各类科技平台249个，其中*32个；建有博士后科研工作站5个，已培养博士后300余人；拥有研究生导师近400人，已联合培养研究生近3000人。
