Founded in 1991, Hengtong Group is a high-tech international enterprise group in China, focusing on fields such as optical fiber and optical networks, smart grids, new energy and new materials. It has 4 major industrial groups and 5 listed companies, with over 20,000 employees (including more than 5,000 overseas employees). It ranks among China's Top 500 Enterprises, Top 100 Private Enterprises, and the top three globally in optical fiber communication and marine communication, and the top three globally in high-voltage submarine cables.

Hengtong adheres to technology-led and innovation-driven development. In fields such as optical fiber communication, marine communication and energy, and ultra-high voltage (UHV) smart grids, it has made breakthroughs in dozens of key core technologies, breaking foreign monopolies and filling domestic gaps, achieving independent control of the industrial chain and supply chain. It has undertaken over 300 national, provincial and ministerial-level science and technology projects, led or participated in the formulation of more than 600 various standards, and holds over 5,500 authorized patents, including over 1,500 invention patents and over 120 PCT international patents. Hengtong actively practices green and sustainable development. It has established an ESG Sustainable Development Committee, set the "2028.2045 dual carbon goals", and continuously builds a green, high-quality development ecosystem across the entire industrial chain and supply chain, leading the industry in low-carbon and sustainable development. It has been awarded the first batch of China Energy Efficiency Five-Star Enterprises, the first batch of China Industrial Carbon Peak Leading Enterprises, the first digital carbon footprint certificate in the industry, achieving a "grand slam" of green manufacturing honors.
