China Railway First Group Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned comprehensive construction enterprise and a member enterprise of China Railway Group Limited. Registered in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, it holds the following qualifications: Special Grade for General Contracting of Railway Engineering Construction; Special Grade for General Contracting of Highway Engineering Construction; Grade I for General Contracting of Municipal Public Works and Building Engineering; Grade I for Specialized Contracting of Railway Track Laying and Bridge Erection Engineering, Highway Pavement Engineering, Tunnel Engineering, and Bridge Engineering; Grade II for Blasting; and Specialized Contracting for Urban Rail Transit Engineering. Established in May 1950, the company is one of the earliest large-scale state-owned construction enterprises in China. It has 12 branches and 22 wholly-owned or controlled subsidiaries (as of the end of 2009). As of the end of 2005, the company had 28,458 employees, including 9,426 professional and technical personnel. Total assets reached 7.1 billion yuan, with 3,245 sets/units of various large mechanical equipment. In 2005, the construction output value reached 10.87 billion yuan.
