Hubei Provincial Industrial Construction Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Hubei Industrial Construction") was founded in Tianjin in 1950, formed by the merger of the Logistics Department of the 20th Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the 2nd Division of Construction Engineering of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1955, according to the orders of Chairman Mao and Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, the 2nd Construction Division was collectively transferred to civilian work and merged with the 2nd Construction Engineering Company directly under the North China Bureau of the Ministry of Construction to form the North China Baotou Engineering Corporation of the Ministry of Construction (later renamed the North China Baotou Engineering Bureau, the 2nd Bureau of the Ministry of Construction, and the 8th Bureau of the Ministry of Construction), building the heavy industry base in North China. In 1969, it moved from Baotou and other places to Shiyan, Hubei, forming the 102 Engineering Command of the Ministry of Construction to build China's Second Automobile Works (now Dongfeng Motor Corporation). In 1972, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province and renamed Hubei Provincial Construction Engineering Bureau. In 1981, it moved to Xiangyang, Hubei, and in 2002, it moved to Wuhan, Hubei. In 2006, it was restructured into Hubei Provincial Industrial Construction Group Co., Ltd. Currently, it is a large state-owned construction enterprise group directly under Hubei Province, the main contractor for the entire field of engineering construction in Hubei Province, one of the top 100 enterprises in the province, one of the top 80 Chinese contractors, one of the top 10 construction enterprises in Hubei Province, a pacesetter in Hubei Province's joint construction of the "Belt and Road," and a national high-tech enterprise. Hubei Industrial Construction now has a registered capital of 4.6 billion yuan, and is a "double-supergrade" qualification enterprise for general contracting of building engineering construction and municipal public works construction issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
